About
Thirty years in the oil patch
J.R.'s Pressure Truck Service Ltd. was incorporated in January 1993 in Whitecourt, Alberta. We are still building, still updating and not done yet.
History
Started with one-ton trucks
We designed and built one of the very first one-ton pressure trucks, modelled after much larger units. The tank was fully compliant with the Transport Canada regulations that applied at the time - most, if not all, competitors were using plastic, fibreglass or modified fuel tanks on one-tons. That competitive advantage got us our start.
We built one of the first single axle 4x4 units that could bridge the gap between the large tandem pumpers or hot oilers and the small one-ton pumpers. That proved to be a good market for our services, and eventually we built three of them. The last of the one-tons was retired in 2006 as we concentrated on slightly larger trucks.
Timeline
Growth, unit by unit
-
Incorporated. First one-ton pressure trucks, built in-house with Transport Canada compliant tanks.
-
Single axle 4x4 units bridge the gap between one-tons and tandem pumpers. Last one-ton retired in 2006.
-
A tandem pumper joins the fleet - 10 cube, two-compartment tank, 6,000 psi (42 MPa), 500 L/min.
-
Three new pumpers: a tandem axle hot oiler (2011 Western Star, 5.5 MMBTU burner), a larger Freightliner tandem-steer/tridem hot oiler with twin 5.5 MMBTU burners (11 MMBTU total) and a tridem straight pumper with enclosed operator station and mobile workshop trailer.
-
Expanded repeatedly: 15,000 psi 600 hp hot oiler; 15,000 psi 1,000 hp quintaplex hot oiler capable of 1,200 L/min; 15,000 psi twin pumper with two 600 hp motors running two 600 hp triplexes at 1,800 L/min.
-
Eight plus pressure, hot oil and tank units, all with chemical injection capability and MDT data recording on the large trucks.
Today
Modern pumps, modern records
All of our large pump and hot oiler trucks have MDT data recording systems that log every pumping operation - pressure, rate, pumping totals, tank volumes, and temperatures in and out on heating units - with multiple unit monitoring, recording and multi-stream data merging.
Data is available on a stick at the end of the job, or by remote viewing during pumping operations. Pumps and operator cabs are updated continuously, all with chemical injecting capabilities.
